Our Award Winning Design Process

Our process is composed of 5 fundamental phases. Depending on the scope of the project, additional phases are either added or removed as required. By working our way from the macro to the micro, we ensure that you’re apart of all decisions where you need to be, and let us take care of all the nitty gritty decisions you don’t need to be.

  • This is where our work begins. Before jumping straight into the nitty gritty, we take a step back and make sure we work with you to understand how the space needs to function and also identify the overall tone and direction. In this phase, you can typically expect the following: design briefing, floor /construction /furniture planning, overall creative direction (mood boards + inspiration images), refinement of overall budget + timeline.

  • With our initial planning complete, we know the overall layout along with the types of furniture, finishes and fixtures we're looking for. Phase 2 is where we physically source all main items (major furniture, fabric, finishes…etc). We will always come with a list of our recommendations based on the approved budget + design brief, but will also provide a list of options at different price points and slightly varying styles. You’ll be able to see your design cohesively together along with touching and feeling all materials.

  • This is our product procurement stage and also where we confirm all of the final details with any of our trades or contractors on your job. All of your furnishings and finishes get approved and ordered and our trade partners confirm all details and pricing. We provide you with bi-weekly status updates on everything that is going on with your project.

  • After all of our I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed, this is when our trades officially start construction and we manage the delivery life-span of your orders. We have weekly status calls with our trades along with site-visits to ensure your project is running smoothly. As we get updates on orders, we also manage the details around ensuring they are delivered properly and deal with all deficiencies.

  • After all main furniture items arrive and required renovations complete, we have a mini walk-through with you to make sure everything meets expectations. Our final presentation will be a high-level overview of decor + finishing touches to bring the space fully to life. We then shop the city and do a final "install" day where artwork goes up, pillows are fluffed and flowers placed. We have our big reveal with you and your family complete with bubbly, and our work is complete.

Our Billing Model

We have a hybrid billing model that combines both a fixed rate billing (a flat fee) and also hourly billing. 

Flat Fee Billing: The first 3 phases are billed at a fixed fee, approved before project start, due to our ability to plan precise steps and methodology within our control.

Hourly Billing: Phases 4 - 5 are billed hourly due to variable time requirements in construction and installation, influenced by unforeseen issues (e.g., unexpected discoveries within walls) and client-specific decor and styling needs. We offer an estimated time range for billing purposes.
